PT Saf Indonusa is a subsidiary of the Lesaffre Group which provides grilling solutions in Indonesia. Baking solutions include yeast, premix, baker, and baking ingredients. Lesaffre is based in Jakarta and has local production facilities in Surabaya.
Problem: Needs a System to Maintain Product Quality during Delivery
PT Saf Indonusa is providing products such as cake raw materials which are very susceptible to temperature and humidity. In practice, this raw material will be sent from the factory to various distribution locations and also to the market, but temperatures are often found that are not ideal when shipping using trucks and containers. This has an impact on the decline in the quality of products delivered and affects the overall performance of the company.
Previously, the field workers were required to record temperatures manually and of course this could not be done every time. To maintain the quality of the products sent to the market, we need technology that can help monitor the temperature and humidity in the delivery process.
Solution : Live Temperature and Humidity Detection
To solve PT Saf Indonusa's problems, a series of solutions have been implemented that can record temperature and humidity directly from each of its fleets. The recorded data will be sent to a dashboard that is integrated with various other data such as location, activity and fleet speed. If the system reads that there is a non-ideal temperature that is above or below the specified limit, the operator will automatically receive a notification so that he can provide fast and accurate follow-up. This solution certainly makes it easier for companies to get complete information about their fleet. This has also succeeded in maintaining the quality of products marketed by PT. Saf Indonesia to remain in the best condition throughout the journey until it is accepted in the market. Operations are also more effective because it avoids manual record keeping which is prone to human errors and uncertain field situations.
